THANASI KOKKINAKIS VS LUCAS POUILLE PREDICTION
Thanasi Kokkinakis pulled off a miraculous victory against Felix Auger-Aliassime as after going two sets down and playing a third-set tiebreak, he showed incredible resilience to edge that and then win the next two sets against the 17th seed.
Lucas Pouille also won through in five sets coming from behind against Laslo Djere to progress to the second round. He just about edged a close encounter which could have gone either way but showed great character when it matter most to claim the win.
The two have only met once before and that came back in 2019 on a hard court. Kokkinakis got the win 2-6 6-4 6-3 and while it is hard to read too much into that match, it could quite easily follow suit where sets are traded. The preference unquestionably goes to Kokkinakis however. Pouille certainly has the pedigree but we edge Kokkinakis as the one coming into this in better shape.
