THE PREDICTION

World number five Stefanos Tsitsipas beat the likes of Hubert Hurkacz and Andrey Rublev at the Astana Open two weeks ago before a straight-sets defeat to Novak Djokovic in the final. The 24-year-old looks to have started turning a corner away from poor form that saw him shocked in the first round of the US Open but he has endured a very frustrating season amidst the bright spots of defending his Monte Carlo Masters title and taking a first grass title in Mallorca. World number 33 Maxime Cressy came back from a set down to beat Ilya Ivashka in a high-quality first round clash at the Stockholm Open and the American will be up for the challenge here after snapping a three-match losing streak. Cressy lost in three sets to Tsitsipas in their first encounter at the US Open back in 2020 but two years on the 25-year-old is an altogether tougher prospect and capable of punishing anyone when his serve is red hot. Back Tsitsipas to win outright here but consider adding at least a tiebreak with both players well-versed in having to settle a set the hard way.
