Jaime Faria vs Hugo Gaston prediction

Jaime Faria produced a fabulous comeback to beat Terence Atmane in the first-round of the Hangzhou Open. The Portuguese player dropped the first set and had to save two match points during a tense second set tiebreak, before going on to win 3-6 7-6 (9) 6-4. Faria advanced to the round-of-16 of a Masters tournament for the first time in his career in Cincinnati last month, beating Ben Shelton along the way.

His next opponent is Hugo Gaston. The Frenchman had a much more straightforward opening match in Hangzhou, beating Sho Shimabukuro 6-4 6-4 after an hour and 30 minutes. It was his first match since the US Open, where he came through qualifying before losing 6-4 6-2 6-4 to former world number one Daniil Medvedev in the first-round.

Gaston’s variety can make him an awkward opponent, but Faria had produced the stronger hard court results against higher level opposition recently.
