Fiji started their MSG Prime Minister’s Cup campaign with a thrilling 3-3 draw against the Solomon Islands in a game in which they led 3-1 until the 88th minute. That was followed up by a 1-0 defeat to Vanuatu the other day.
Defending champions Papua New Guinea came from behind late on to defeat Vanuatu by two goals to one before they then succumbed to a 2-1 loss to New Caledonia in their most recent outing in midweek.
PNG have underwhelmed in the defence of their trophy and Fiji, with their home advantage, may well be the value bet for this one in Suva.
