Anna Bondar vs Elena-Gabriela Ruse prediction

Anna Bondar is through to the quarter-finals of the Korea Open after coming through a tight three set match with Alina Charaeva. The Hungarian won 6-4 6-7 (6) 7-6 (5). Her standout result of the campaign was a third straight appearance in the final of the Hamburg Open, but she was unable to win a second title following a loss to Tamara Korpatsch. 

Her opponent in the last eight is Elena-Gabriela Ruse. The fourth seed recovered from losing the first set to beat wildcard Yeonwoo Ku 2-6 7-6 (1) 6-1. That followed a dominant victory over Eva Lys in her opening match. 

Ruse has won their only previous WTA encounter, beating Bondar in straight sets in Cluj-Napoca three years ago. Neither player has been quite at their best so far in Seoul, with Bondar going the distance in both rounds and Ruse needing a comeback against Ku. Their most recent form suggests there is relatively little between them.
