THE PREDICTION
World number 47 Sebastian Baez endured a torrid second-half of last season almost directly after claiming his maiden ATP title at the Estoril Open but the 22-year-old will be ecstatic to have reached a second tour final on his immediate return to clay. Baez has, admittedly, enjoyed a kind draw through to the final here, where he will face his first opponent ranked inside the top 100 on tour, but his confidence will be significantly boosted moving forwards and that makes him look the fair favourite. World number 67 Federico Coria stunned the defending champion, Albert Ramos-Vinolas, in straight sets on Saturday to reach the second ATP final of his career after he finished runner-up to Francisco Cerundolo at the Bastad Open last summer. Another all-Argentine final should see a mixed support for up-and-comer Baez and a long-suffering Coria, for whom winning a title of his own would surely mean the world considering the success of his elder brother. Sets seem likely to go both ways but given Baez’s lower-ranked results this week back Coria to earn at least a set and leave the victor up to chance.
