24-year-old Reilly Opelka set a career-high ATP world ranking of 17th last month after winning the third ATP title of his career at the Dallas Open. The American has won all three of his title on US soil and he reached the final of the Cincinnati Open last year, finishing runner-up to Daniil Medvedev, to get very close to a first Masters title.

20-year-old Lorenzo Musetti set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 56th on Monday with two quarter-finals reached in February at the Pune Open and Rotterdam Open. The flashy Italian looked set to smash through the top 50 last summer but his stellar season turned on its head after he lost to Novak Djokovic from two sets up in the round of 16 at Roland-Garros.
THE PREDICTION
Italian prospect Lorenzo Musetti burst onto the scene in 2020 at his home Masters event in Rome where he reached the round of 16 as a qualifier via victories over Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori. The world number 56 is working his way back up to the confidence he showed in Paris last summer, where a capitulation against Novak Djokovic appeared to drain him physically and emotionally that affected the rest of his season. World number 17 Reilly Opelka is at his best on hardcourts on US soil, just like American veteran John Isner before him, and he should be calm and collected enough to weather any storms Musetti has for him in this second round clash. Opelka leads this head-to-head 2-0 and he is yet to drop a set against the Italian, so back him to take this in two for a slight risk or outright for a sensible addition to an accumulator.
