Casper Ruud vs Francisco Cerundolo prediction

Casper Ruud represents Team Europe in Friday’s opening match at the Laver Cup. He was in Davis Cup action last time out, winning both of his singles matches as Norway easily beat China 4-0. That marked his return from a back injury, which forced him to miss the US Open at the end of last month. Ruud has become a stalwart of this competition, and he’s making his sixth straight appearance since debuting in Boston back in 2021.

Francisco Cerundolo is his opponent for Team World. The Argentine advanced to the round-of-16 in New York last time out, pulling off an upset in round three as he came from two sets and a break down to beat Taylor Fritz. However, he failed to reach his first slam quarter-final after a defeat to Alexander Blockx. Cerundolo has also won two titles this season, at the Argentina Open and Queen’s Club.
