Nuno Borges really is enjoying an exceptional run of form right now and his confidence will be higher than ever after beating Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round and especially after the win over Ugo Humbert. He is playing some great all-round tennis at present, with high win percentages on first and second, while his return game is looking sharp.
He now faces Kei Nishikori who is rolling back the years and has been in superb form. He started slow against Alex Michelsen but fought back heroically but he completely outplayed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round. It is hard to see him sustaining that given how little tennis he has played in recent months but he should have the quality to beat Nuno Borges here.
