THE PREDICTION

World number 70 James Duckworth reached the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters last season, doing so at Masters level for the first time in his career. However, the Aussie has yet to win a match on tour this season and injury saw him miss four months from the Australian Open through to a three-set defeat to Francisco Cerundolo last week in Lyon. World number 96 Mikael Ymer is in a similarly low ebb as he takes a seven-match losing streak, including qualifiers, into the French Open. The 23-year-old was in excellent form at the start of the season, beating Gael Monfils at the Montpellier Open on his way to a semi-final defeat by eventual runner-up Alexander Zverev. It is hard to pick a winner from these two in their first meeting but backing Duckworth, off the back of a decent performance in Lyon, to win at least two sets seems a suitably cautious move.
