World number 42 Marie Bouzkova could have entered the Charleston 500 this week but opting to drop down to the Bogota 250, in search of some much needed form, looks to be paying off. The 25-year-old is the top seed this week and she has so far played like it, ousting Rebecca Marino and Hailey Baptiste in straight sets apiece, but this should be her toughest test yet against wily veteran Laura Siegemund. 36-year-old Siegemund came back from a set down to oust Fran Jones on Thursday, backing-up a solid opener over Iryna Shymanovich, but she has comfortably lost to Bouzkova in both of their previous encounters – including at tour-level in Miami two years ago.
