The 31-year-old has struggled for anything like her best form for most of this season but she is always capable of bursting into life at a prestigious tournament and she should be feared in the draw as a six-time Masters champion. World number 38 Lin Zhu started 2023 on fire with a huge run to the round of 16 at the Australian Open and a maiden WTA title won at the Hua Hin Championships but she has had a quiet summer too. The 29-year-old has a real chance at the upset considering Pliskova’s form but realistically the Czech’s serve should be too powerful.
