The 22-year-old Russian followed up her upset of Alexandra Eala with a superb 3-6 7-5 6-4 comeback victory over Xinyu Wang.

The world number 180 will now meet Talia Gibson in the last four after the Aussie shocked seventh seed Maria Sakkari 6-1 4-6 6-2.

It would also be a breakthrough final for Talia, making this showdown of underdogs one with much on the line.

Gibson will be the favourite at 63 in the rankings but there’s little to go on beyond that, with this being their maiden encounter.

The way Tatiana has taken down some big guns also suggests she’ll be full of belief here and there’s definitely scope that two in-form players could have their say before it’s decided in a third.
