THE PREDICTION

World number two Ons Jabeur is the third seed here at Wimbledon with her ranking points from a career-best Grand Slam run to the quarter-finals here last season coming off before the draw. The 27-year-old won the third WTA title of her career two weeks ago at the Berlin Open, her second on grass, but her best achievement to date was a stunning campaign at the Madrid Open last month to claim a first Masters title. World number 132 Katarzyna Kawa stunned an in-form Rebecca Marino in three sets on Monday to reach the second round of Wimbledon on her debut. The 29-year-old is a real late bloomer having made her Grand Slam debut two years ago at the US Open, where Ons Jabeur beat her in straight sets. Despite the Pole’s strong start there is little to suggest a different outcome in this second tour-level meeting. Jabeur beat Mirjam Bjokland to the tune of just four conceded games on Monday and taking the Tunisian to win in two with fewer than 17.5 games looks a reasonable risk.
