THE PREDICTION
Former world number one Daniil Medvedev will move back inside the top 10 on tour no mater the outcome of this enticing Rotterdam Open final but a win for 21-year-old Sinner would see him right behind the Russian in 11th. Medvedev conceded just three games to Grigor Dimitrov on Saturday to back-up an excellent victory over defending champion Felix Auger-Aliassime and there are very encouraging signs that the Russian can rediscover some of his best form this season after enduring a tough year at times in 2022. Sinner, however, fares a strong chance at beating Medvedev for the first time here after a brilliant campaign of his own. The Italian made it seven wins on the spin on Saturday with a straight-sets victory over Tallon Griekspoor but his best result in this run was avenging his Australian Open defeat to Stefanos Tsitsipas on Thursday. Sinner won the Montpellier Open last week with an assured display but this will be a much tougher test against Medvedev, who leads the Italian 4-0 in their head-to-head so far after most recently beating him in similar conditions late last year in Vienna. Back Medvedev to edge things here.
