THE PREDICTION
World number one Iga Swiatek beat Coco Gauff for the sixth time on Friday, although she conceded more games against the American (six) than she did in her entire Qatar Open winning campaign last week. The 21-year-old takes a six-match winning streak into the Dubai Masters final after defending her Doha title last weekend and it was this time last season that the Pole began stringing together her incredible 37-match winning streak – a record on the WTA tour this century. However, world number 30 Barbora Krejcikova is not the severe underdog she may appear against this version of Swiatek. The former world number two has beaten an incredible field of players to the Dubai final this week, including Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka and world number three Jessica Pegula, and she beat Swiatek in three sets late last season to win the Ostrava Open. Swiatek leads their head-to-head 2-1 after wins in Miami and Rome two years ago but their last two encounters have come very close indeed. Back Swiatek to win outright here but it will be fascinating to see how she copes if she goes down a set for the first time since embarking on this incredible run.
