The Bolivian took Hubert Hurkacz to a decider at the Madrid Open before defeat in the first round and he has beaten decent opposition in recent qualifiers on the clay swing. World number 25 Karen Khachanov should have his eye in now at Roland-Garros after a choppy four-set victory over Nuno Borges. The 26-year-old is an excellent all-courter who reached the quarter-finals here in 2019 before defeat to the aforementioned Thiem but he has been prone to lapses in concentration at tournaments for some time and Dellien is a significant threat. 28-year-old Dellien will know he has few better chances at a run in Paris on his favoured clay and backing him to win at least a set here as the plucky underdog could be the shrewd move.
