ELINA SVITOLINA VS ANA BOGDAN PREDICTION
World number 64 Ana Bogdan proved herself a tough draw on her favoured clay with a brilliant upset over 2021 runner-up Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on Thursday and she will back herself in this second meeting with Elina Svitolina this year.
The Romanian overcame the former number three in three sets at a Billie Jean King Cup qualifier on clay in April to take a 1-0 lead in their head-to-head and she is experienced enough to play the game, not the occasion, here with the Roland-Garros crowd set to pull as one for her opponent.
29-year-old Svitolina is not in the same blistering, resurgent form that took her to the quarter0-finals of this competition last summer but a straight-sets victory over Diane Parry backs up a battling comeback over Karolina Pliskova that says she will give her all to this rematch.
The Ukrainian should draw strength from the home-from-home support but three sets seem likelier than two here. Back Svitolina to earn at least one to leave the result up to chance.
