World number 79 Alycia Parks came back from a set down to beat fourth seed Petra Martic on Wednesday for one of her more impressive results on tour so far. The 22-year-old found some form on the Challenger circuit late last season and she looks ready to make a push for the top 50 this season if she can maintain this level. World number 67 Danka Kovinic also came back from a set down to beat Anna Bondar on Thursday and she is one of only three remaining seeds left in this intriguing Lyon Open. The 28-year-old reached the semi-finals of the Auckland Classic at the start of the year before losing to eventual champion Coco Gauff for a string start to her 2023 but this first meeting with Parks looks a difficult call between two players who rarely make the latter stages on tour. Given her triumph over Martic, take Parks to earn at least a set and leave the victor up to chance.
