The 23-year0old reached the quarter-finals of the Barcelona Open in impressive circumstances last week but a straight-sets defeat to third seed Casper Ruud suggests there is still a gulf between his level and the very top players on tour. Back Medvedev to win outright with three sets about as likely as two.
