THE PREDICTION

World number 26 Dan Evans beat Tallon Griekspoor in straight sets on Monday to get a fairly promising European Open campaign underway. The 32-year-old fell in three sets to eventual champion Ugo Humbert here in the semi-finals two years ago after felling the likes of Frances Tiafoe and Karen Khachanov and he returns to Antwerp in similar form after recently losing at the same stage of the Canada Masters to eventual champion Pablo Carreno Busta. The Brit has not been beaten easily in recent months, unless facing his kryptonite in Yoshihito Nishioka who is also here in Antwerp, and he beat Constant Lestienne in straight sets only recently at the San Diego Open. 30-year-old Lestienne is enjoying the form of his career all of a sudden at 30 years old but the Frenchman is yet to beat someone inside the top 30. Back Evans to win outright.
