World number 90 Chun-hsin Tseng took the first set from Jack Draper on Wednesday before the Brit finally found his rhythm to win through in four. 21-year-old Tseng is the only player confirmed to be out of the running for the semi-finals of the Next Gen ATP Finals after losing his first match in comfortable straight sets to Lorenzo Musetti.
World number 111 Dominic Stricker looked a dangerous entrant here in Milan and he has proven so by first beating Jack Draper in three sets before a five-set epic win over pre-tournament favourite Lorenzo Musetti. The 20-year-old recently came into form on tour with victories over top 40 players like Botic van de Zandschulp and Maxime Cressy and he took Pablo Carreno Busta to three sets at the Swiss Indoors before defeat.
THE PREDICTION
All eight of the Dominic Stricker’s sets played this week have gone to a tiebreak, with Lorenzo Musetti taking two of them on Wednesday. Stricker should fare easier in this last, most winnable fixture in his group but it could be worth adding at least one tiebreak in the match after Chun-hsin Tseng played one with Jack Draper on Wednesday. The sensible option is backing the Swiss to win outright though, and probably in three.
