THE PREDICTION
This should be an entertaining rematch between world number four Caroline Garcia and former number 21 Sorana Cirstea after Cirstea upset the Frenchwoman in three sets in the round of 16 at Indian Wells last Wednesday. Garcia had laboured through two three-set wins over Dalma Galfi and Leylah Fernandez to suggest an upset was on the cards but Cirstea still impressed on her way to a quarter-final exit to Iga Swiatek in which she was not embarrassed by her performance. The 32-year-old is far better than her current ranking of 74th suggests but the conditions in Miami will favour Garcia this time around, as will her motivation for revenge. However, Cirstea has arguably enjoyed the better form on tour over the last few weeks and backing her to earn at least a set here looks the shrewd way to avoid picking a winner. All three of their previous meetings have gone to three sets, with Garcia leading their head-to-head 2-1.
