World number two Carlos Alcaraz reached the semi-finals of the China Open before another quality clash with his contemporary rival Jannik Sinner, who stunned the Spaniard in straight sets en-route to the title. 20-year-old Alcaraz has struggled to find the intensity that saw him upset four-time defending champion Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon back in July but he should still coast through his first few rounds of his Shanghai debut.
