THE PREDICTION

World number 33 Francisco Cerundolo came back from a set down to beat Roberto Carballes Baena in three sets on Tuesday to set-up the chance at immediate revenge over Bernabe Zapata Miralles, who beat him in three sets in the quarter-final of last week’s Argentina Open. The 26-year-old Spaniard set a new career-high ATP world ranking of 63rd this week after reaching the semi-finals in Buenos Aires before a straight-sets defeat to Carlos Alcaraz but he started Rio well on Wednesday with a win in two over Jaume Munar. 24-year-old Cerundolo should be able to get the better of Zapata Miralles this time around but three sets seem likelier than two and backing the Spaniard to take at least one of them looks the shrewd way to avoid picking a winner.
