THE PREDICTION

World number 13 Barbora Krejcikova burst back into form at the Dubai Masters last month to beat Iga Swiatek to win her first WTA 1000 title and she looked in good shape against Aryna Sabalenka last time out at Indian Wells before a three-set defeat to the eventual runner-up. The 27-year-old stayed in the desert to win yet another doubles title alongside Katerina Siniakova, though, and she can take that form into a promising singles campaign here in Miami without worrying about doubles this fortnight as her partner was injured in the first round on Tuesday. World number 45 Aliaksandra Sasnovich avoided a potential banana skin with a straight-sets victory over Dalma Galfi on Wednesday but this looks too steep a climb against a player who will surely soon move back inside the top 10 on tour. Sasnovich is no pushover, though, especially with a win in her sails. Back Krejcikova to win outright inside an accumulator or take the straight-sets option on its own.
