ANNA KALINSKAYA VS KAROLINA MUCHOVA PREDICTION
Anna Kalinskaya has risen to 12th in the world rankings and the 25-year-old has good confidence in her play right now and rightly so. She had to come through a three-set battle with Priscilla Hon in her opening match but then cruised to victory in the round of 16 against Yue Yuan 6-3 6-3.
She now meets Karolina Muchova who is in fine form herself having reached the final of the China Open two weeks ago. After the loss to Coco Gauff in the final in Beijing, she pulled out of Wuhan to get some rest but she will mean business this week. She has been impressive in her two wins so far and she will fancy her chances against Kalinskaya here.
The pair have met twice before and it was Muchova who won both meetings, albeit those came in 2018 and 2020. It is Muchova who is playing at a higher level right now however and barring a shock or complacency creeping in, we fully expect Muchova to progress.
