THE PREDICTION
World number 48 Alexander Bublik has won just four of his 15 matches so far this season and he was stunned in the first round of Indian Wells by qualifier Tung-lin Wu two weeks ago. The 25-year-old is one of the more unpredictable players on tour but his current level seems to be more of a mentality issue than an ability one and that could take the Kazakh some time to work out. World number 50 J.J. Wolf also lost in the first round of Indian Wells to make it three defeats on the spin but the American will probably have benefitted from the break since then ahead of this Miami opener. The 24-year-old reached the round of 16 at the Australian Open back in January in a continuation of form that started late last season when he reached a maiden ATP final at the Firenze Open. Wolf came back from a set down to beat Bublik in the quarter-finals that week on his way to the final and he can be backed to earn at least a set here as the just-about likelier victor from two players currently struggling on tour.
