THE PREDICTION

Two of the more unpredictable players on the ATP tour face off here with world number 33 Alexander Bublik leading their head-to-head 3-2 after victory in three sets at the Marseille Open, indoors in France, back in February. Former world number three Grigor Dimitrov upset Daniil Medvedev in three thrilling sets on Wednesday to avenge his loss, by the same scoreline, to the Russian last week in Vienna and his shock victory over Carlos Alcaraz in Shanghai last month saw him reach the semi-finals before defeat to Andrey Rublev. 26-year-old Bublik won both of their first two encounters before current world number 17 Dimitrov found a way to win at two Masters events, Cincinnati in 2021 and last season’s Indian Wells, the latter of which he also stunned Daniil Medvedev.

If Bublik continues to serve in the way he has so far in Bercy there will be very few opportunities for Dimitrov to make a dent but the Bulgarian has earned at least a set in four of their five encounters to offer a useful alternative to picking the winner here. You could consider adding at least a tiebreak with five of their total 13 sets played needing a breaker.

BETTING TIP: Grigor Dimitrov to win a set.
