World number six Carlos Alcaraz made short work of lucky loser Juan Ignacio Londero on Sunday, conceding just six games to the Argentine. World number 44 Albert Ramos-Vinolas overcame a tough test by Thanasi Kokkinakis on Sunday, beating the Aussie in four sets. 34-year-old ARV won the fourth title of his career at the Cordoba Open back in February and he is one of the more seasoned clay specialists on tour.
Alcaraz has beaten Ramos-Vinolas in both of their previous meetings and both on clay at the 2020 Rio Open and more recently in the semi-finals of last season’s Umag Open, where the young prodigy went on to win his first ATP title.
