World number 47 Albert Ramos-Vinolas beat Daniel Elahi Galan in straight sets on Thursday to improve on a comeback victory over Tomas Martin Etcheverry on Tuesday. The veteran clay specialist has not been as consistent as he would have expected on this portion of the clay swing but this looks a reasonable opportunity to reach his second semi-final this month against compatriot Bernabe Zapata Miralles. 26-year-old Zapata Miralles will have plenty to ay about that, though, after upsetting Francisco Cerundolo in three sets on Thursday. The Spaniard should break the top 50 on tour no matter the result here as he continues to improve on his favoured surface but Ramos-Vinolas remains the slight favourite on experience more than anything. Back the elder Spaniard to earn at least a set in a match that looks like needing a decider.
