Fifth-seed Andrey Rublev is yet to drop a set in Astana after two solid results over Laslo Djere and Zhizhen Zhang. The 24-year-old has so far avoided the big-hitters in this stacked draw in Kazakhstan but Adrian Mannarino has been enjoying some excellent results lately and this should be his toughest round yet. 34-year-old Mannarino recently claimed the second ATP title of his career at the Winston-Salem Open, a first on hardcourts, and after a few early exits since he has claimed back-to-back comeback victories over Stan Wawrinka and David Goffin this week in impressive fashion. Rublev beat Mannarino in the Kremlin Cup final in their first meeting back in 2019 but the Frenchman levelled their head-to-head record last season with a three-set victory, also in Moscow. Backing Rublev to win at least a set is the clear cautious option here but perhaps taking Mannarino to snatch at least one is the reasonable risk.
