World number 57 Alison Riske received a walkover to the final after Tamara Zidansek was forced to withdraw and that should give her a useful advantage in the rest department against Madison Keys, who played a thrilling three-set match against Coco Gauff. Both players are better than their current world rankings but world number 87 Keys is significantly so, with her comeback win over Gauff proof once again of her excellent sticking power that took her to a US Open final back in 2017. The 26-year-old beat second seed Elina Svitolina at the start of the week and her results come against much tougher opponents than Riske’s. Furthermore, Keys has won each of the last five meetings between the two to suggest she is a decent favourite here despite the last of those meetings coming back in 2016. Take Keys to win outright, with Riske as much a fighter capable of forcing a decider.
