Elsa Jacquemot vs Magdalena Frech prediction

Elsa Jacquemot has struggled for consistency in 2026, and her ranking has now fallen to outside of the top 150. She has lost 28 of her 43 matches this season, and Jacquemot has failed to advance beyond the second-round of a WTA tournament. The Frenchwoman has at least found some form in Beijing qualifying, beating Zongyu Li before defeating Vivian Wolff to secure her main draw place.

Magdalena Frech is her first-round opponent. The Pole arrives with considerably stronger recent form. The Pole advanced to the Guadalajara quarter-finals earlier this month, beating Caroline Dolehide before a loss to defending champion Iva Jovic. 

Frech leads the head-to-head 2-1 and won their most recent encounter at the Hobart International this year. Jacquemot’s two qualifying wins make her more dangerous than her tour-level record suggests, but Frech has been operating at a higher level throughout the season. Jacquemot will need to produce an improved performance if she is to get the better of her opponent.
