THE PREDICTION
Wimbledon’s eighth seed Roberto Bautista Agut played out an entertaining four-set match with John Millman on Monday. The Spaniard needed a medical timeout and seemed to further exacerbate that thigh issue at match point so it remains to be seen how he recovers to face Miomir Kecmanovic for a third time in his career. 21-year-old Kecmanovic also needed four sets to knock out Facundo Bagnis in the first round and the Serb is a difficult player to pin down lately. He played his best match in a year at the French Open to come back from a set down against Dan Evans earlier this month but he has so far struggled at times on grass.
33-year-old Bautista Agut made the semi-finals here in 2019 and if his body allows for it the Spaniard should be reaching the second week at Wimbledon as standard. He leads world number 49 Kecmanovic 2-0 in their head-to-head record but the Serb took a set off him at the US Open last year and that, coupled with his potential leg issues, is enough to opt for an outright win for RBA instead of an achievable straight sets here.
