Cincinnati Open eighth seed Garbine Muguruza came through her first match in comfortable fashion, beating Caroline Garcia in straight sets. The Spaniard just missed out on a chance at playing for a medal at Tokyo 2020 last month in keeping with a fairly ordinary second-half to her 2021 season by her lofty standards.
