THE PREDICTION

This could be a really enjoyable semi-final between imminent Davis Cup teammates Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime. The pair will go into the Davis Cup as second seeds alongside Vasek Pospisil, Brayden Schnur and Peter Polansky later this month but an already seasoned, friendly rivalry is brewing between the two Canadian youngsters with Auger-Aliassime currently leading their head-to-head record 3-2. 21-year-old FAA has won both of their meetings this season at the Australian Open and Barcelona Open, both in straight sets, but two of their three meetings on hard courts have gone the way of Shapovalov. The elder Canadian by one year is the defending champion at the Stockholm Open and playing like it once again after a dreadful last few months since his career-best campaign at Wimbledon, but coming back from a set down against Arthur Rinderknech is a level her needs to improve on if he is to beat Auger-Aliassime right now. Take FAA to win at least a set for a cautious move here, with two quite unpredictable youngsters set for a thriller.
