Wigan Warriors name Bevan French in their squad, but it remains a question mark as to whether he is fit enough to play and whilst one Wigan player serves a ban in Kian McDermott, another player returns from one in the form of Sam Walters.

Wigan Warriors vs St. Helens prediction
So far, it’s Wigan Warriors who leads the head-to-head record over St. Helens in all competitions so far this season. After falling victim to a stunning Saints comeback at BrewDog Stadium earlier in the campaign, Matt Peet’s side have since beaten their fierce rivals twice, nilling them in the Challenge Cup semi-finals before edging a Super League nailbiter 16-14 at the Brick Community Stadium earlier in July.
Whilst St Helens were victorious against Catalans Dragons last Friday in a display full of grit and heart, they have since been rocked by the departure of head coach Paul Rowley, who stepped down on Thursday after less than a year in charge after what has been a throughly disappointing campaign so far. Assistant Eamon O'Carroll will lead the team until a replacement is appointed.
This is a really big game for both teams as Wigan look to move level on points with Leeds Rhinos and keep Wakefield Trinity at bay, whilst St. Helens need the win to put some pressure on the top four. You would expect a gutsy St. Helens to take the game to the Warriors and play with no fear against a side four places above them in the table. But with key players like Bevan French back in the ranks for Wigan and the Saints ravaged by injuries, it’s unlikely that they will be able to match the hosts when taking into account the quality within this Wigan squad. Therefore, expect a comfortable Warriors win.
