THE PREDICTION

The Vienna Open has provided some excellent matches already but second seed Alexander Zverev versus sixth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime should be one of the best. 21-year-old Auger-Aliassime is still chasing ATP Finals qualification after coming back from a set down to beat Indian Wells champion Cam Norrie on Thursday in which he saved three match points. The Canadian has struggled for form since reaching his first Grand Slam semi-final at the US Open back in September, where he lost to eventual champion Daniil Medvedev in three. 24-year-old Alexander Zverev lost at the same stage of the US Open, one year after losing in the final to Dominic Thiem, and this looks a brilliant opportunity for vengeance after FAA knocked the German out of Wimbledon in the round of 16 back in July. Zverev leads this head-to-head record 3-1 following that result and he has bounced back well from his Indian Wells disappointment to beat Filip Krajinovic and an inspired Alex de Minaur so far in Vienna.

Still, FAA is chasing something more than the title here as he aims for the ATP Finals ad that could make taking the Canadian to win at least a set here the shrewd move. Zverev remains the favourite to win.
