THE PREDICTION
A Sofia Open final place would be just what either of these players deserve after some wilderness years amidst injuries for the pair of them. Vasek Pospisil, especially, has a real chance now of winning his first ever ATP title at 30 years old after he made short work of John Millman in the quarter-finals. The Canadian will be happy with his performances as much as anything and if he can stay injury free we shall see him back in the Top 50 next season without a doubt. World number 49 Richard Gasquet should also make his way up the rankings after a disrupted 2020 season of repair and he is yet to drop a set this week. The pair share a 3-2 head-to-head record in favour of Gasquet and this should be a fantastic spectacle between the tour ever-presents. A result is particularly hard to call whenever Pospisil is involved but both players should be able to win a set in this tussle and that seems the best option for want of forcing a pick. However, if forced, on performances Pospisil does just shade this encounter and it feels like his time.
