French wildcard Benjamin Bonzi grabbed his chance with both horns as he beat Federico Coria in straight sets, conceding just three games to the Argentine on Monday. The 24-year-old is one of the less know French fringe players but he reached the second round of Roland-Garros last month, also in Paris, and is now 2-1 for wins at tour-level this year. He faces a player in some real form, though, as Alejandro Davidovich Fokina took full advantage of Karen Khachanov’s poor recent performances to beat the Russian former Paris Masters champion in three. 21-year-old Davidovich Fokina is an exciting young prospect and will relish the attention that first round shock will gain him and he can breeze past Bonzi here in comfortable straight-sets.
