THE PREDICTION
Miomir Kecmanovic took full advantage of John Millman’s hangover from the Aussie’s first ever ATP title in Astana last week to win their first round match on Tuesday. The 21-year-old Serb will look to produce a Paris Masters shock as he targets world number seven Alexander Zverev, knowing that he beat the German in their only previous meeting last year in Cincinnati. It took three sets that day and could well again in this match but Kecmanovic will face the new-look Zverev who may well be a changed man after his US Open final defeat. Zverev is on an eight-match winning streak, culminating in back-to-back ATP 250 titles in Cologne in October, and he should be considered a dark horse for the tournament here. The fourth seed can come through here but will be challenged throughout.
