World number 15 Pablo Carreno Busta seems to have shaken off whatever saw him falter in the second round of last week’s Vienna Open to come through back-to-back straight-sets wins here in Paris and the Spaniard should be feared by all from here on in. He has already reached his furthest placing here in Paris and has a great opportunity to reach the quarters if he can beat Norbert Gombos for the first time. The Slovakian took out the eighth seed Davis Goffin in impressive fashion on Tuesday but, admittedly, Goffin has been in some woeful form. That win meant the world to Gombos and he will fight to the death here, which should see him take this match to a decider. It would not be a total shock for him to win in this momentum but PCB has to be backed to come through this difficult test.
