THE PREDICTION

Alexander Zverev and Adrian Mannarino will play each other for the third time this year, the third time in fact since the re-start of the season after two wins for the German at the US Open and Cologne 2. Those matches took the world number seven up to a healthy 4-0 head-to-head record over the Frenchman and it should be a fifth by the close of play today in Paris. 32-year-old Mannarino did well to cope with the intensity of Yoshihito Nishioka on Wednesday, coming back from a second-set tiebreak to beat the Japanese, but it seems that Zverev has his number. 23-year-old Zverev looks a man on a mission after back-to-back titles in Cologne and he should be considered a real contender for the title here. He beat Miomir Kecmanovic 6-2 6-2 yesterday and can beat Mannarino in straight-sets here too.
