Taylor Fritz vs Carlos Alcaraz prediction

Taylor Fritz finally reached his first Wimbledon semi-final with a four set win over Karen Khachanov. Fritz had lost at this stage in 2022 and 2024 but made a fast start here as he quickly established a two set lead advantage over the Russian. His level dropped in the third and he required a medical timeout in the fourth, but he still came through to win 6-3 6-4 1-6 7-6.

He will face Carlos Alcaraz in the last four. The two-time defending champion produced his best performance of the tournament so far as he swatted aside Cameron Norrie 6-2 6-3 6-3 to make his third semi-final in a row at SW19. Alcaraz had to fend off three break points in his opening service game, but it was all plain sailing from there as Norrie couldn’t cope with the variety on show from the world number two.

Alcaraz has won both of their previous encounters without the drop of a set, but this is their first meeting on grass. Fritz has enjoyed a fine season on the surface, having picked up two titles and broken new ground at Wimbledon with a semi-final appearance. He must be aggressive and serve unbelievably well to have a chance but he’s unlikely to be able to cope with Alcaraz’s touch and movement over five sets.

Taylor Fritz vs Carlos Alcaraz tip: Carlos Alcaraz to win 3-1
