Surrey vs Essex prediction

Essex kept qualifying for the T20 Blast quarter-finals firmly in their hands with a seven-wicket win against Hampshire Hawks. Now they have to beat Surrey at the Kia Oval, a very tough task after their crushing nine-wicket triumph over Kent Spitfires which saw them bowl out their opponents for just 102, before chasing it down in less than nine overs.

The issue with Essex is whether they can replicate that Hampshire performance. When things have looked good for them in the past, the Eagles have tended to lay an egg and the Kia Oval is a very tough place to go when you have to win. The sensible move would be to back Surrey but don’t expect a foregone conclusion.
