Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – BBC / US – FOX Sports

How to watch online: UK – BBC iPlayer / US – Disney+

Key stats

  • Slovakia have won four of their last five World Cup qualifying matches without conceding a goal (L1).
  • Slovakia have lost only one of their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches at home (W8 D2).
  • Northern Ireland have lost three of their last four World Cup qualifying matches away from home (W1).

Slovakia vs Northern Ireland prediction

Under the management of Maurizio Sarri’s former assistant coach Francesco Calzona, the Slovakians started their campaign with a defeat of Germany. However, a defeat in Belfast in the reverse fixture of this game, has seen them now slip behind the Germans at the top of Group A, once again.

Northern Ireland will be able to push themselves into the top two and potentially a playoff spot after victories against Slovakia and Luxembourg leaves them in a good position. However, the Green and White Army have suffered frustrating defeats to Germany in games in which they kept themselves very much in the mix.

Northern Ireland head to Bratislava knowing they can be very difficult and awkward to play against but the Slovakians remain slight favourites with their home advantage.

Slovakia vs Northern Ireland tip: Slovakia to win & under 3.5 goals
