The first-leg of this UEFA Europa Conference League playoff round tie was played at the neutral venue of Stadion Miejski im. Henryka Reymana due to the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. That game finished one apiece, with Servette taking an eighth minute lead via midfielder Lamine Fomba, before Valeriy Bondar equalised for Shakhtar mid-way through the second-half.
