It was a disrupted qualifying campaign for Saudi Arabia with Roberto Mancini having to be replaced by the returning Herve Renard. The Green Falcons haven’t had a major immediate improvement but they did squeeze themselves into the tournament after they edged through the fourth round of AFC qualification.
The Ivory Coast, under the management of Emerse Fae, are heading to Morocco seeking to defend the African title that they won at the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations in early 2024. Les Elephants head into this one on the back of a 3-0 hammering of Kenya, a few days after a 7-0 annihilation of the Seychelles.
The Ivory Coast appear to be a very strong team, having seen off Gabon in a tough group and they will fancy their chances of inflicting a wake up call upon the Saudi Arabians.
