Chiefs were unable to end their wretched run of form in Super Rugby Aotearoa in their opening clash of the new competition as they went down to Highlanders last week. That is now nine straight defeats since the inception of this tournament and things could be about to get a lot worse for them as they travel to face the Crusaders here. The hosts have made a strong start to the defence of their title with back-to-back victories and they have now managed eight wins in their last nine. That record spells trouble for the struggling visitors and having also lost the two most recent meetings between the pair, it is difficult to envisage them coming away with anything from this trip. The Crusaders look a class above and with them beating the Hurricanes by a margin of 17 points last week, they should be able to repeat that feat with another big win.
